

Over Your Dead Body is a 2026 American action-comedy thriller directed by Jorma Taccone and written by Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney. The film stars Jason Segel and Samara Weaving as a married couple whose relationship has fallen apart, with both secretly planning to kill the other during a weekend getaway. Timothy Olyphant, Juliette Lewis, Keith Jardine, and Paul Guilfoyle also appear in key roles. The film is an English-language remake of the 2021 Norwegian movie The Trip and premiered at the South by Southwest Film & TV Festival before arriving in theatres on April 24, 2026.
Dan Burton, a struggling filmmaker, and his wife Lisa head to a remote lakeside cabin under the pretense of repairing their marriage. Unknown to each other, both have carefully prepared plans to commit murder and walk away from the relationship for good.
Their deadly schemes quickly unravel when a group of escaped criminals unexpectedly arrives at the cabin. Forced to put their hatred aside, Dan and Lisa find themselves fighting for survival against dangerous intruders. As the night descends into violence and chaos, the couple must decide whether they still want each other dead or if saving their marriage is worth one last chance.

The screenplay was written by Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney. Matthew Weston served as cinematographer, Jeremy Cohen edited the film, and Matthew Compton composed the score.
Principal photography began in November 2024 and took place in Finland, with several scenes filmed in and around Tampere and Ylöjärvi. The project was originally announced under the title The Trip before being renamed Over Your Dead Body in 2025. Critics particularly noted its mix of graphic violence, dark humor, and the chemistry between Jason Segel and Samara Weaving.
Over Your Dead Body premiered at SXSW on March 14, 2026, and was released in U.S. theatres on April 24, 2026. Since the theatrical release has already taken place, the film is no longer an upcoming title. It later became available digitally, with Amazon Prime Video handling international streaming distribution.
