Border 2

While Border 2 is clearly connected to the original, it does not simply repeat everything from 1997. Instead, Border 2 represents the next phase in developing a generation’s definition of patriotism, sacrifice, and military service, adjusting these concepts to fit modern times.

Where the first film used the image of large-scale battlefield heroism and emotional unity as the basis for its story, the sequel will likely take a more detailed view of the historical evolution of warfare and the responsibilities associated with being a soldier, and what it means to be a soldier for the person viewing the movie today.

While nostalgia may play a part in developing Border, it will also include a greater focus on what individuals have to give and endure, as well as the burden of carrying their legacy that a new generation of soldiers must bear. That’s why the balance between remembering the past and looking forward to the future is important to Border 2; it will enable the film to stand on its own while honoring the original Border’s success.
