Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu (2026) is an upcoming American science fiction adventure film from Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, part of the globally renowned Star Wars franchise.
Directed by Jon Favreau and co-written by Favreau and Dave Filoni, this big-screen continuation brings the beloved characters Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) and Grogu back to theaters following their hit Disney+ series. It marks the first theatrical Star Wars release since The Rise of Skywalker (2019) and is set for worldwide release on May 22, 2026.
Set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, The Mandalorian and Grogu follows legendary Mandalorian warrior Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his apprentice Grogu as they answer a call from the New Republic to help protect a fragile post-Empire galaxy. With remnants of Imperial warlords still threatening peace, the duo embark on a high-stakes mission that challenges their skills, loyalties, and bond as guardian and pupil.
Along the way, they encounter new allies and formidable foes, including Colonel Ward (Sigourney Weaver) a seasoned New Republic leader Rotta the Hutt (Jeremy Allen White), and an Imperial warlord (Jonny Coyne). The adventure expands the Star Wars mythos with familiar faces like Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios from Star Wars Rebels and dynamic action across diverse planets.
