Synopsis

Shelby Oaks is an American supernatural horror mystery film directed by Chris Stuckmann in his feature directorial debut. Produced by Paper Street Pictures and distributed by Neon, the film blends found-footage elements with traditional horror storytelling.

The movie gained early attention as one of the most successful horror projects on Kickstarter, later evolving into a theatrical release backed by Neon. It premiered at the Fantasia International Film Festival before its wider release.

Shelby Oaks Plot Summary

The story follows Mia, a woman obsessed with finding her missing sister Riley, who disappeared years earlier while investigating paranormal activity in the abandoned town of Shelby Oaks.

Riley was part of a small online paranormal investigation group, and her disappearance is linked to disturbing footage recorded in the eerie town. When new clues surface, Mia becomes convinced her sister is still alive and begins her own investigation.

As Mia digs deeper, she uncovers a terrifying chain of events tied to a haunted prison, occult symbols, and a violent past connected to a mysterious figure. What begins as a search for answers quickly spirals into a confrontation with a supernatural force far more dangerous than she imagined.
